Napa should have a Napa "Gold" oil filter for your L35. I would'nt use anything else. They are a good filter at low cost. ....

If you really care about the life of your unit,I would recommend doing a little research on oil filtering ability, and who makes them. Cheaper cost SOMETIMES means cheaper construction W/less filtering ability.I remember seeing a comparison chart at one time for autos, and remember that FRAMwas about the worst. NAPA Gold as recommended by Mike was pretty high on thelist. I would try to find out who makes the OEM filter for your unit. For example:an OEM Dodge Cummins oil filter will set you back around $9-14, the same filter, made by Fleetgaurd is $4.95. Fleetgaurd from what I am told, makes the OEM filters for Dodge, minus the pretty Dodge logo. I would also recommend looking for a filter using "microglass", I think they can filter particles 1/2 the size of a normal paper element.Sometimes you get what you paid for. Good Luck:) ....

I think Wix makes both Napa Gold and kubota filters. I read an article on filter brands and Napa Gold came out on top. I think you can find it, way, way back on Machinery forum? ....

I recommend everyone on this page to cut open a NAPA filter and compare it to a cut open Fleetguard (Cummins). Fleetguards have more "paper" in them and are the highest quality..Fleetguard, which is owned by Cummins, a world leader in engines, makes filters for many companies like Deere, CaseIH, and other companies. In my opinion, get the OEM filter if it is not too out-of-line. My second choice would be Fleetguard. They build engines and they know how to make filters. NAPA/Wix, Baldwin, and FRAM are copy-cats. (I dont work for Fleetguard.) ....

BobI went to a local auto parts store to get a filter for my L2350. they were able to look it up in a book and got a Fram filter for me. I got to thinking about it and went to the Kubota dealer and got a Kubota filter. The Kubota was about 5 bucks compared to about 3 for the Fram. Since this was the first oil change for my tractor and it still has warranty, I got to thinking that if some think happened to the engine Kubota might view the filter as the reason and not honor the warranty. With a tractor as expensive as an L35, I believe I'd get the Kubota brand filter and oil. Just my opinion, everyone has one. ....

Just finished reading the Oil filter study posted by Diggerdarol. Unfortunatelythat is not the first time I heard that FRAM is JUNK. I truely believe that Preventativemaintainance goes a long, long way. "pay me now, or pay me later"Please do yourself a favor, don't be a penny pincher trying to save a dollar, only to spend hundreds down the road. ....
